Concept preview · Receivables intelligence for education

Moving money is a commodity. Knowing what to collect, when, and how is not.

Atenea sits above your payment rails, bank, ERP and SIS. For every payer and every period it designs the obligation: the amount, the timing, the instrument and the incentive that bring cash in on time at the lowest total cost, without pushing students out.

    The liquidity problem

Every term the cash gap arrives. The default answer makes it worse.

Tuition lands late, payroll does not.Weeks 5–9 open a gap the treasury has to close somehow.
    2. 02
Collections is the only lever the institution controls.Calls, agencies, enrollment holds. Cash comes in, later than needed.
    3. 03
Students leave over balances smaller than their remaining tuition.A semester-2 student who drops over $15k takes six semesters with them.

Next term the gap is bigger. The cost of collections never shows up in the P&L. It shows up in enrollment.

    Price every lever

Collections looks cheap. It is usually the most expensive lever.

There are at least six ways to close a gap. Only one of them is priced honestly in most institutions. Atenea prices all of them, including the students lost along the way.

    The decision engine

One obligation, one payer, one designed decision.

A campaign treats every payer the same. Atenea looks at four things for each obligation and picks the cheapest lever for that payer, that week. Select a payer to see the decision.

02Payer behaviorEarly, on time or late; response to offers; instrument on file

      The model never touches money.

Balances, allocations and forecasts are deterministic. AI interprets intent, selects tools and explains results.

      02

Every lever competes on the same unit.

Annualized cost of cash. A 2% discount 60 days early costs 12.4% a year. A card installment fee, a credit line and a lost student are priced the same way.

      03

No decision counts until it is measured.

Holdouts and staggered rollout. Uplift, not response rate. If the offer went to someone who would have paid anyway, that is leakage, not success.

      The foundation

None of this works on numbers that disagree. So Atenea starts by reconciling them.

Private by design. Deterministic where money is involved.

Identity, policy, minimization and audit sit between every question and every data source. The model receives only the evidence needed to explain an authorized, already-computed result. Your data never becomes someone else's training set.

      Where this goes

Software is the way in. The decision layer is the business.

Once the engine predicts, with evidence, what will be paid and when, it is holding underwriting-grade data. That opens a second business. We enter with the first.

      1NOW

      Receivables truth

Reconcile SAFE, SIS, bank and ERP. Surface unapplied payments and wrongful holds. Certified accounts receivable by campus and program.

      • Weeks, not quarters
      • Pays for itself in recovered cash
      3LATER

      Funding marketplace

Predictable, reconciled receivables become fundable. Partners price the residual gap on Atenea's evidence, under a separate legal and regulatory structure.

      • Rail-independent, PSP-independent
      • Extends to any payer ≠ beneficiary flow: clinics, gyms, property
“The rail is where the money moves. The decision is where the value is.”
